MaryCatherine Moroney, Mezzo Soprano, holds both a M.M. and G.P.D. in Voice Performance from Peabody Institute of Music. As an avid recitalist, she has performed oratorio, concert and cabaret/theatre in various venues throughout the United States and internationally on tours to Russia and Bolivia. She was acclaimed for her “handling of a comic role with sparkling humor and fortissimo sneezes” in the role of Berta for Dayton Opera’s Il Barbiere di Siviglia. As a stage performer, some of her role repertory include the title role of Carmen, Madame de Haltière (Cendrillon), Female Chorus (The Rape of Lucretia), Charlotte (A Little Night Music), Zita (Gianni Schicchi), and Marcellina (Le Nozze di Figaro). She has also been a member of the Castleton Residency program, an Artist-in-Residence with Dayton Opera, and a Studio Artist with Opera New Jersey.
