Love, Treachery, and Fate — the classic tale of Don Juan. This semi-staged production will be conducted by Maestro Gregory Buchalter and  featuring Richard Bernstein, Alexandra Deshorties and Keith Miller of the Metropolitan Opera.

Leporello:  Richard Bernstein  

A 2008 Grammy-nominated artist, Richard Bernstein is at the forefront of singers of his generation. He has performed his signature role of  Figaro in Le Nozze di Figaro worldwide with the opera companies of Philadelphia, San Diego, Pittsburgh, Atlanta, Chicago, Los Angeles, Vancouver, Portland, Palm Beach, as well as the Metropolitan Opera, Opera Pacific, Deutsche Oper Berlin, Bayerische Staatsoper in Munich, and Teatro del Maggio Musicale in Florence, among others. Donna Anna: Alexandra Deshorties 

Alexandra Deshorties continues to distinguish herself as one of the leading young sopranos of her generation. This season Ms. Deshorties engagements include her role and house debut as Desdemona in Otello at the Dallas Opera in the new Winspear Opera House in the Dallas Center for the Performing Arts, Donna Anna in Don Giovanni at the Palm Beach Opera and her recital debut at Roy Thompson Hall in Toronto. She recently made her debuts in Valencia as Fiordiligi in Così fan tutte and at the Bard Festival as Valentine in Les Huguenots. Read more—

In Eapen's most recent performance in Bronx Opera's Die Drei Pintos,Musical America hailed him as "the opera's most engaging character, or so it would appear from Eapen Leubner's deft portrayal, sung with a trim, attractive tenor voice" and The New York Times acclaimed him as "a charming Don Gaston." Donna Elvira: Anastasia Jamieson

Anastasia Jamieson, soprano, brings an "innocent, sparkling voice" to her extensive vocal repertoire, which includes opera, operetta, oratorio, concert works and musical theatre. She has sung major operatic roles and concertized in several American cities, including Detroit, Denver, Pittsburgh, Boston, Las Vegas and Anchorage, performing such roles as Susanna, Barbarina and the Countess in Le Nozze di Figaro, Adele and Rosalinda in Die Fledermaus, Micaela in Carmen, Lauretta in Gianni Schicchi, Gilda in Rigoletto, Mimi in La Boheme and the title role in Suor Angelica. Zerlina: Christine Renee Keene

Christine Renee Keene, soprano, has been praised for her “remarkable hall-filling voice” and her “well-supported soprano…drawing just a little reverb from the beams and walls”.  Recently returned from a year living and working in Vienna, Austria, she has been increasingly active with opera companies and festivals around Alaska – most recently playing Sister Genovieve in Anchorage Opera's Suor Angelica,  Abel in the Alaskan premiere of La Tabernera del Puerto and understudy to Rosina in Il Barbiere di Siviglia. Masetto: Stephen Brody

Stephen Brody, bass-baritone, is a native of Houston, Texas and most recently was a Principal Young Artist with Opera North where he performed and covered the role of Escamillo in Bizet’s Carmen. In the 2008-2009 Season, Brody performed the roles of Peter Quince in Britten’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Ariodate in Handel’s Serse, and Prince Gremin in Tchaikovsky’s Eugene Onegin with the Maryland Opera Studio. Commendatore: Kyle Gantz  

Lifelong Alaskan Kyle Gantz has been involved in the Anchorage music scene for many years, and is excited to make his debut with Opera Fairbanks. The bass-baritone has performed a wide range of musical styles, and has performed with Anchorage Opera in fifteen productions since 1994. Recent roles include Zaretsky and the Captain in Eugene Onegin, Zuniga in Carmen and the Imperial Commissioner in Madame Butterfly. Read more—
