Recently returned from a 22nd season of the Beaver Creek Rendezvous in the Yukon, Sylvain is glad to join the artistic community of Fairbanks once again.
From Sweeney Todd to Archibald in The Secret Garden to Prof. Hill in The Music Man, Dr. Stone was the last character Fairbanks audiences got to see and hear inHelp! Help! The Gobolinks with Opera Fairbanks.
Life is a stage with daily performances for and with his wife and 2 lovely little girls.
Other involvements in the Fairbanks artistic community include singing with the Fairbanks Symphony Chorus Christmas concert and the Alaska Chamber Chorale. Prior to moving to Alaska, Sylvain sang regularly with The Bow Valley Chorus in Banff, Alberta: the role of St- George in John Rutter's The Reluctant Dragon, as a soloist in Handel's Messiah and in the chorus of Mozart's Mass in C minor, Vivaldi's Gloria and Rutter's Requiem. He also performed in Fort Steele, British Columbia as a lead in The Red Rooster Revue and The Dastardly Abduction of Cecily Pugh.
Sylvain studied acting, voice, movement and improvisation at the Breck Academy in Vancouver, B.C and also studied voice and singing with Nikolai Kolesnikov while residing in Vancouver. He continued studying voice, singing and music theory in Montreal with Danielle Laroche.
Vancouver being Hollywood north, Sylvain had his brush with fame, appearing in MacGyver, The Accused, The Hitman and We're No Angels.
