Mezzo-soprano Wendy Buzby is entering the final year of her Master's Degree in Vocal Performance at the University of Colorado at Boulder in the studio of Margaret Lattimore. Mrs. Buzby received her Bachelors Degree from Northwestern University, Illinois. This spring, Mrs. Buzby placed fourth in the Denver Lyric Opera Guild Vocal Competition while in preparation for a performance of the Janacek's Cunning Little Vixen as the Forester's Wife and the Owl. Other roles include Mrs. Patrick DeRocher and Jade Boucher from Jake Heggie's Dead Man Walking, the title role in Gluck's Orfeo ed Euridice, and Dritte Dame from Die Zauberflote. Mrs. Buzby is excited to be playing the role of Tisbe as well as covering the role of Angelina for Opera Fairbanks this Summer. Mrs. Buzby has a background in instrumental music, opera scene productions, choral solos and has played various smaller operatic roles in the Chicago and Denver areas.
