Anastasia Jamieson

Soprano
Anastasia Jamieson brings an "innocent, sparkling voice"
to her extensive vocal repertoire, which includes opera,
operetta, oratorio, concert works and musical theatre.
She has sung major operatic roles and concertized in
several American cities, including Detroit, Denver,
Pittsburgh, Boston, Las Vegas and Anchorage, performing
such roles as Susanna and Barbarina in Le Nozze di
Figaro, Adele and Rosalinda in Die Fledermaus,
Micaela in Carmen, Lauretta in Gianni Schicchi,
Gilda in Rigoletto, Serpina in La Serva
Padrona, Iris in Semele and the title role in
Suor Angelica. This past fall, she sang the role
of Mimi in La Boheme for Opera Las Vegas. Her
concert repertoire includes Brahm’s Requiem,
Mozart’s Requiem, C Minor Mass and
Exultate Jubilate, Handel’s Messiah, Fauré’s
Requiem and Orff’s Carmina Burana. Ms.
Jamieson is well known as a performer of J S Bach, and
has appeared as a soloist in his Magnificat,
Christmas Oratorio, St. Matthew Passion,
St. John Passion and numerous cantatas. Critically
acclaimed for her sensitive interpretation of Russian
songs, she has recorded a collection of Russian romances
of the 19th
century. Most recently, she has presented recitals in
Boston and the Midwest. A native of Ann Arbor, Michigan,
Ms. Jamieson received her vocal training at the renowned
University of Michigan School of Music. She resides in
Anchorage, Alaska with her husband and two children and
is currently a member of the voice faculty at the
University of Alaska, Anchorage. |
